SiMPLE: Simulation for Manufacturing and Prototyping with a Learning Environment

OSRF partnered with SRI International to create the SiMPLE learning kit for DARPA's MENTOR2 program. SiMPLE integrates Gazebo with a MOOC and corresponding project kit to teach electromechanical design to personnel repairing equipment in austere environments.

I designed the Model Editor (which is still under development), a tool within Gazebo that allows users to construct models via the GUI. Previously, models had to be hand coded.

I conducted usability testing at a military base with 12 sailors over the course of a week-long workshop. The findings informed improvements to the SiMPLE training kit and Model Editor.
